Ultimate Lard Pie Crust
The crust of your pie can mean the difference between good and amazing, and who doesn't want to eat amazing pie? This pie crust is crunchy and flaky, yet moist, and totally delicious! Use it for apple pie, or a quiche, it suits everything and the possibilities are endless!

I have modified the original recipe to make one pie crust. For the original recipe
INGREDIENTS

1/2 cups all purpose flour

1 tsp salt

1/4 tsp baking powder

1/2 cup lard
-
1 small egg
-
2 tbsp cold water

INSTRUCTIONS

Sift or blend the flour, salt and baking powder together. Cut in the lard until the flour and lard is a sandy consistency.

In a separate bowl mix the egg, vinegar and ice water. Add the liquid slowly into your flour mixture. Be careful not to over process at this point.

When the dough comes together, flatten it into a disk at the bottom of the bowl. Cover with plastic wrap.

Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, then roll out to fit in your dish.

Follow other instructions for your filling and baking.
